World of Warships - Jacuzzi Mode - German Das Boot (April Fools) - YouTube xenofoxx

Nearly a month and a half has passed, and I realized I never published this video. The forth clip I've posted about the World of Warships April Fools event. This one features the German ship called "Das Boot". Like the other bath tub boats, this one has all similar features except for the equipment slot. This one has Hydroacoustic equipment which extends the range that you can spot incoming enemy torpedoes. In this battle, it's an example of how sometimes you can have a good game, do well, but still fail to achieve victory. As for the name, Das Boot is a German term that simply means "The Boat". It's also the name of a popular film from 1981 directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starring Jurgen Prochnow. I highly recommend this film, about a WWII U-Boat and it's commander and crew.

This battle was during the 2016 "Japanese Threat" event, featuring Allies versus Axis. In 1939 the Seversky Aircraft Company reorganized into the Republic Aviation Corporation when Alexander Seversky was forced to step down from the company. At the time, one of the projects undergoing research was Project AP-4, which would be prototyped with the designation YP-43, which would lead to the P-43 Lancer aircraft. However with the rapid advances in aircraft technology in Europe, it became clear that the P-43 out classed. The XP-44 Rocket was a early draft design to improve upon the Lancer. It would have replaced the former Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp engine with the more powerful R-2180-A Twin Hornet engine. This would have given the Rocket better high-altitude capabilities. Also the aircraft would have also had six machine guns mounted, versus the four guns on the previous model. Unfortunately as the situation grew in Europe in 1940, it was clear that the new design would already be obsolete. With the plans for the upcoming AP-10 / XP-47, which would lead to the production P-47, already on the table, the decision was made to abandon the XP-44 aircraft. No prototypes were ever built. The existing P-43 Lancer would serve briefly as a stop-gap solution until the P-47 Thunderbolt was ready for service.

Seems like most of this match was a dog fight with that Model 81A-1. Also if you play World of Warplanes, just FYI, the new Japanese line of aircraft is set to come out this week, as well as a new game mode. The A6M2 was actually the first production model, as the A6M1 were prototypes for testing. The design was ordered by the Japanese Navy as a replacement for their carrier based A5M. Unlike previous navy planes, the Zero featured a closed cockpit and retractable landing gears making it more aerodynamic, helping it's speed and maneuverability. To make the aircraft as light as possible, no armor was used for the Pilot or critical components. This made the aircraft fast but vulnerable. Another weight saving technique was to creation of a new experimental alloy called Extra Super Duralumin, which was lighter and stronger then standard aluminium alloy. This new metal was coated in an anti-corrosive coating post manufacturing. The popular "Zero" name comes from pilots giving it this unofficial name. According to the Japanese the A6M and it's variants was officially referred to as "Type 0". Because of this, some Japanese came to call the aircraft Rei-sen or Zero-sen, loosely translating into "Fighter Zero". The allied naming convention gave the aircraft the official designation of "Zeke", although too many Americans would come to know the aircraft simply as "Zero".

The development of Next Car Game, now called Wreckfest, has been slow. However I think Bugbear just wants the game to be as good as it can be, and are spending a lot of time with their physics engine. It's still pretty-much a working prototype at this point, but I'm a patient gamer who doesn't mine the wait. Here's a recent update with a new vehicle and a new track. I really like how this game is shaping up.

I rarely play the GA (Ground Attack) planes. Usually I'm not any good at that class. This battle was an exception. Using the IL-2 with a rear gunner, I began by removing the AA guns from the battle, giving my allies clear skies to fly in. Then decided to throw myself into battle since I was being shot at too frequently to focus on ground targets. Achievements Earned: Falconry - Destroy at least 2 fighters or multirole aircraft. Quick Shot - Destroy 2 aircraft in a row without any other enemy destroyed by allies.

World Of Tanks (Award-Winning Work)

The Panzerkampfwagen 38 (t) n.A. is a tier IV light tank. Originally a Czech tank, it is a prototype improvement of the standard Panzer 38, using welding technology instead of rivets for the construction. It never saw action nor was it mass produced. I was curious about the name and it breaks down as follows: The '38' may represent 1938, the year that the Czechoslovakia government ordered 150 to be manufactured. They would fall into German use after the occupation in 1939. The '(t)' means 'tschechisch', the german word for Czech. And lastly the 'n.A.' stands for 'neuer Art' which loosely translates into "State of the Art" because of the different manufacturing process utilizing welded plates.

Back in March (2016) there was an event to earn the Polikarpov I-180-3 along with a pretty cool paint scheme. Here I take it out for a spin and earn a few achievements. ("Hat Trick", "Quick Shot" and "Interceptor") The design was an attempt to replace or improve the performance of the aging I-16 aircraft. The layout of the aircraft had to be modified to accommodate the larger M-88 radial engine. Other noticeable changes were the shape and design of the wings and the modified engine cowling which gave it a sleeker, more aerodynamic look. During a test flight of the original I-180 prototype, famed pilot Valery Chkalov was killed in a crash which resulted in multiple arrests by the Soviet Union. This incident would cause Polikarpov to fall out of favor with Joseph Stalin. A second prototype, I-180-2 would also crash, killing Tomas Suzi. The final prototype, I-180-3 saw very limited production, resulting in only 10 aircraft being built. These aircraft were designated I-180S and performed similar to the I-16 with slightly more stability. In late 1940 the project was cancelled by the government. Some reports indicate it was cancelled due to the development of the Yak-1 and the LaGG-3. Others claim it was more personal, with Stalin disliking Polikarpov after Chkalov's death. Information backing this theory indicates that, despite some of the problems, which were being worked on, in some areas the I-180 out-performed the German Bf 109 aircraft.

A few weeks ago, Wargaming teased the players with a list of upcoming German Battleships. During this match, which was recorded last month, I spotted the SMS König Albert (I presume) near the start of the match off my port side. I tried to zoom in on the vessel to get a closer look. The German BB can be seen again near the end of the video as we are capping the point. ---- I, myself, am sailing the Aurora, one of the three Pallada class protected cruisers built for the Imperial Russian Navy in 1900. The ship survived the defeating Battle of Tsushima during the Russo-Japanese War and served in the Baltic Sea during World War I. Most notably, she was used as a symbol for the assault of the Winter Palace in Petrograd (AKA Saint Petersburg). Aurora fired a shot which kicked off the 1917 October Revolution where the Bolsheviks removed the Provisional Government. That government had only been in place less than a year, following the removal of the Romanovs, the former Russian royal family. Because of this, she is seen as an icon for the beginning of the Soviet Union and the ships likeness was used to create the Order of the October Revolution service award. Because of her age, World War 2 saw the ship mostly as a training vessel, however her guns were removed from the ship and used to defend Leningrad, the Soviet rename for Saint Petersburg. Today the ship is a museum ship in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It's featured in the game World of Warships as a Tier III Premium Cruiser. The ship has guns on all sides, giving it the ability to fire at almost any angle as well as delivering massive broadside shots.

The M2 Light Tank was one of several designs that were acquired by Great Britain during the Second World War. While 100 vehicles were ordered, it seems only 36 were delivered before the order was cancelled. Being a pre-war design it didn't see a lot of action and was soon replaced by better light and medium armored vehicles. There is some evidence that the British M2 might have see some combat action in India and Burma against the Japanese forces. While other sources say that these tanks were ordered, but never delivered. I haven't played World of Tanks in a while, but a recent update got my attention. I figured I'd be rusty so I decided to stick to a low tier. I rarely played the UK Import line so that's why I went with the M2. The result... "So many medals"

Another German Heavy fighter, the Ao 192 Kurier built by AGO Flugzeugwerke. This is one of the earlier heavies you can unlock in the game. One note, I really don't like ram-killing enemy aircraft. You'll notice I try to veer off, I still collide with the oncoming aircraft. I'm still new to heavies and learning that they are a lot less maneuverable than fighters. The sparkle effects on the wing tips are due to the equipped New Years consumables.

The lead ship of the Sims Class destroyer, a modernized naval ship with an advanced turret system. The targeting system used an analog computer system called the Mark I FIre Control Computer. The Sims is one of the 3 ships that were available from the Wargaming shop during Closed Beta Testing. In this battle me and another destroyer face off against two other destroyers while the rest of our team are busy elsewhere. Near the end we're both badly damaged but still manage to capture two points while keeping the enemy at bay and came off with a win.

I did nothing! No kills. No penetration shot. Not even spotting. So why post this video of my SAu 40 Tank Destroyer? Because It just amazed me the teamwork for this session. Everyone did an excellent job. My vehicle was so slow that by the time I advanced, the enemy had already been neutralized. Sometime mid-battle I realized half of their team was gone and we had only lost 2 tanks. I figured that kind of teamwork was worth publishing. Good job fellow tankers.

NOTE: I'm very sorry for the issue with the audio. It wasn't like this when I recorded it, and I do not know where the interference is coming from. This is a little video tour of our base, tucked away inside of an asteroid. The station was built with a group effort between me and a few of my friends. Taken from an early access game called Space Engineers, it is a crafting survival game set in space. I begin my tour in my ship, the Kitsune Kruiser, doing a fly by of the exterior and landing in our bay area. (when finished it will be a fully functional hanger for other ships) My ship is designed for mining, light exploration, cargo transport, and ship grinding (for easily breaking down large objects). I also have 2 rocket pods installed but haven't armed them yet. And yes, it has fox ears on the ship because....why not. I then leave my ship and fly around, showing our ship-welding station, conveyor system, solar panel array, ore dumping area, and meteor defense turrets. I then fly inside the asteroid to take a look at our refinery processing and assembly area (Yellow Level), as well as our main reactor and storage compartment (Black Level). Finally I fly up to our medical bay area (Blue Level), and finishing in the yet to be finished personnel quarters (Red Level).

This battle was during the 2016 "Japanese Threat" event, featuring Allies versus Axis. Not to be confused with the Me 209 prototype of 1943. The Me 209 V1 was developed in 1937 with the primary goal of breaking the speed record for a single engine aircraft. It was not originally intended for a combat role. Early in 1939, the speed record was broken by the Heinkel He 100. Flown by Hans Dieterle, the He 100 achieved a top speed of 463.9 mph (746.6 kph). Less than a month later, in April 1939 the Me 209 took the title away from Heinkel when pilot Fritz Wendel took his aircraft up to 469 mph (756 kph). After the Battle of Britain, there was consideration for adapting the Me 209 for combat. One attempt for this conversion was to install a pair of 7.92mm machine guns within the engine cowling. This modification, however, caused a great reduction in speed and the project was abandoned. The V4 variant was mainly a fake re-dressing of the racing aircraft to make it appear to be combat capable. Military markings were applied and it visually appeared to be armed. In this capacity it was photographed and used for propaganda as the next evolutionary step of the Bf 109 Fighter. In 1943, an unrelated project also called Me 209 was prototyped as a potential replacement for the Bf 109, but had no correlation with the racer aircraft of 1937.

The Curtiss Hawk III was a gift play given to players over the 2014 New Years holiday. It was also a clear indication that a Chinese tech tree would be added. For some reason the matchmaker only paired me up with a small group this time. (MM has been having some issues in the recent update) Initially I decided to remove the only Anti-Aircraft gun in the area of the map we would be fighting. Meanwhile my team was engaging the one aircraft that had been spotted. Unfortunately 2 of them died in the canyon while in pursuit. With half the team now gone, I assumed this would result in a loss . Soon the three enemies were spotted. One seemed to crash into a cliff wall. Another I was firing at, head-on, but pulled away too late resulting in a collision. Badly damaged, the remaining aircraft was a British Skua which has a tail gunner. This caused me to take as much damage as I was dishing out. So I had to change strategies. I knew my remaining ally was a ground attack aircraft and wouldn't do well in a dog fight. So I had to stay alive and keep the Skua focused on me, giving my friend time to turn around and get a good shooting angle. I dived quickly, while being evasive. My goal was to pull the Skua closer to our anti-aircraft guns. As expected, with him focused on me, the attack aircraft finished him off. And that's how you turn a frown upside down.

I'm particularly proud of this match. Mid-way through the battle some enemy cruisers were attempting to flank our team. I parked my ship with some land between me and them for torpedo protection. Then with three lucky citadel shots was able to destroy three vessels. T'was a good day at sea. The Battleship New York, along with her sister, USS Texas, were the first to be equipped with 14 inch guns. They were also the last battleships to be powered by coal-fired boilers. Shortly after being commissioned, the ship participated in the United States occupation and blockade of Veracruz during the Mexican Revolution. During World War I, New York was sent to reinforce the British Grand Fleet. During this time, purely by accident, the ship managed to sink a German U Boat via collision. Post war reports indicate the sunk submarine was either U-113 or U-123. Because of the ships age, World War II activities would be limited to training duty, convoy escorts and coastal artillery bombardments. She supported landings in North Africa (Operation Torch) as well as the invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Post war, the ship was used at Bikini Atoll during Operation Crossroads. Here, the ship survived two atomic explosions, and was towed to Hawaii for study on the damage effects caused by the nuclear blasts and radiation. Once the study was concluded the ship was taken out to sea and expended as a target.

Rocket League has introduced a twist on their vehicle-based football/soccer game. For the Christmas and New Years holidays the game has changed to Hockey. As warm as it has been for my area this year, this may be the closest thing I get to seeing snow this year.
