In 2014, we were given the Sleipnir I UFO spacecraft. Christmas of that same year we saw the Odin 42M flying saucer. Sticking with the sci-fi theme, this past April Fools saw some changes to the airfield. All equipment and flight crew have been replaced with plywood cutouts props that would make Ed Wood proud. Complete with clouds held up by sticks, a hanger that's clearly a painting, and fake UFOs flying around and shooting lasers. If you look closely you can see that the space ships are in-fact the Odin 42M. Not much, but still something amusing for the small but dedicated player base that are still here.

World of Warships - Jacuzzi Mode - German Das Boot (April Fools) - YouTube xenofoxx

Nearly a month and a half has passed, and I realized I never published this video. The forth clip I've posted about the World of Warships April Fools event. This one features the German ship called "Das Boot". Like the other bath tub boats, this one has all similar features except for the equipment slot. This one has Hydroacoustic equipment which extends the range that you can spot incoming enemy torpedoes. In this battle, it's an example of how sometimes you can have a good game, do well, but still fail to achieve victory. As for the name, Das Boot is a German term that simply means "The Boat". It's also the name of a popular film from 1981 directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starring Jurgen Prochnow. I highly recommend this film, about a WWII U-Boat and it's commander and crew.

World of Tanks - Crater "Pool Table" Map (April Fools) - YouTube xenofoxx

My previous video was the first "Moon Mayhem" April Fools event I played. This battle was after I started getting a better idea of how the vehicle handled. The sphere shaped tank, named the Soviet IS 8-Ball is set on a map that is designed after a pool table with lava pits where the pockets should be. The map has lower gravity and random events occur throughout the match. The ball tank is difficult to aim, so I learned that using the target lock helped a lot with firing on the move.

If you frequent the WOWS website, you've probably seen the animated cartoon series "Bad Advice". For April Fools this year, the little Captain and Goldfish from that series are joining the action... In a giant bath tub. Toy boats, inflatable pool toys and "pew-pew" guns. One interesting feature is all ships have a forward firing torpedo launcher. If they ever were to add Submarines to the game, this is roughly how they would fire. It comes equipped with smoke screen equipment which will temporarily hide your vehicle from the enemy. This match I'm playing the US ship "Bottlesheep", which is clearly a pun on the word Battleship. Battleships are were large warships with heavy artillery cannons. They could engage other ships in long range ship-to-ship firing or they could be used for coastal bombardment of land targets. If you've ever heard the term "Dreadnought", it comes from the British battleship HMS Dreadnought, which was so advanced it changed how all nations built their warships. All ships of the older, inferior battleship design became known as Pre-Dreadnoughts.
