Due to life changes, I have a bunch of videos uploaded but not published. I intend to remedy this. At the time of the recording I was experimenting with different ways to play carriers, which is why the first few minutes of the recording is in map view. Getting an idea of how our fleet is spread and zooming in when I need a better view of what's going on. The ship was originally designed as a submarine tender and laid down in 1935 with the name Takasaki. However before she was completed, the ship was converted to a light aircraft carrier and renamed Zuiho. Zuiho was present during the Battle of Midway but did not directly engage the US fleet. On several occasions, the ships aircraft would be removed and used for strengthen land based air fields. One such example of this was in November 1943 where Zuiho aircraft, now assigned to the ground base, participated in defending Rabaul from an American raid.
