A few months back, German Battleships were added to WOWS. Nassau is the first to unlock in the line. It has a similar layout to Kawachi. Like many low tier dreadnoughts, it's slow and not very maneuverable but the secondary batteries have increased range compared to others at her tier. Prior to the launch of the British Battleship, HMS Dreadnought, the German Admiral Alfred von Tirpitz had planned funding for twelve new warships; six battleships and six cruisers. However with the new adoption of the "All Big Guns" philosophy that came with the Dreadnought, the Imperial German Navy reconsidered their plans. The Nassau Class design was intended as a response to the HMS Dreadnought. The first two ships were ordered in 1906, SMS Nassau and SMS Westfalen. By 1908 many older pre-dreadnought vessels were deemed obsolete and needed to be replaced. As a result two more ships of this class were ordered; SMS Posen and SMS Rheinland. All four ships served with the High Seas Fleet during World War I, and saw combat service in both the Battle of the Gulf of Riga and the Battle of Jutland. After the war, the ships were interned and later given away as war prizes as part of the Treaty of Versailles. However due to their age, none saw service with their awarded nations, and were all sold for scraping.
