For Saipan, I tried the torpedo loadout this time. Unsure if I love or hate this vessel. Your squadrons are small but you have a large reserve of replacements. Early on in this match I got into trouble with the enemy targeting me, but wasn't able to finish me off. USS Saipan and her sister ship, USS Wright, were built as light carriers, with the hull based on the Baltimore class heavy cruiser. However by the time the ship was completed, the war in the Pacific was over. In the 1960s she was converted into a Major Communications Relay Ship. The vessel was renamed USS Arlington (AGMR-2). The ship, along with USS Annapolis (AGMR-1) served as communications platforms during the Vietnam War. During the NASA Apollo missions, the ship acted as a communications relay and assisted in the recovery of Apollo 8, Apollo 10 and Apollo 11 space capsules and crew.
