I'm still not great at playing CV. I often end up with most of my planes shot down, like in this video. But I got a few hits and we won. Later in the battle (about 12:30 and 16:20) I decided to watch my air strike in 3rd person view mode. Unfortunately WOWS recordings are sometimes "jerky". The animation is a lot smoother in an actual match. The Langley started out as the USS Jupiter (AC-3), a Proteus class collier ship. These vessels were used for transporting coal for fueling naval ships. Strangely, the sister ships of Jupiter; USS Proteus, USS Cyclops and USS Nereus all went missing in parts of the Bermuda Triangle. In 1920 Jupiter was selected to become an experimental ship to test aircraft handling capabilities. She was renamed Langley and was given the hull number CV-1, becoming the first United States aircraft carrier. A wooden flight deck was installed along with a hanger area. The first aircraft to fly off of her deck was a Vought VE-7 Bluebird biplane. The USS Langley was featured in the silent film "The Flying Fleet". The lessons learned as a carrier were passed down to the ships predecessors, the USS Lexington (CV-2) and USS Saratoga (CV-3) and the Langley would be converted to a Seaplane Tender with a new designation AV-3.
