The Murmansk began life as the American Omaha Class Light Cruiser, USS Milwaukee (CL-5). The "Milwaukee Deep", the deepest recorded depth of the Atlantic ocean, was discovered and named after this vessel. In 1944 she was loaned to the Soviet Navy and renamed Murmansk. She served as convoy escort and patrol duty as well as training vessel. In 1949 she was returned to the US in poor condition with an infestation of rats and roaches, requiring the need to be fumigated. Deemed unfit for service she was eventually sold for scrap. In this battle it would seem my fate was decided early on. With my ship getting disabled and as a result, I took a lot of shelling. Able to get the engines back online at the last minute I saved myself. Barely alive but still battle worthy, I still managed to take on a Battleship. Just goes to show that even if you're almost dead, every hit you can score before your out of the game can help your team achieve victory.
