Battlecruiser Design B-40 / B-41, known as "Myogi" in-game, was one of the many preliminary designs of what would become the Kongo class. It existed only in blueprints and the name was derived from Japanese naming conventions of the time period. This one took some effort to research out, and eventually I found some diagrams of ships simply labeled "B-39", "B-40" and "B-41". The in-game vessel is likely an amalgam of Design 40 and 41, based on the primary and secondary gun layouts. Some believe that the turret arrangement of this design was largely inspired by Sir George Thurston of the Vickers company, who had designed a similar arrangement on the HMS Erin (originally intended for the Ottoman Navy). There is also others who suggest that the superstructure of the in-game Hull C was inspired by another British designed, the Renown Class. Had the Myogi existed, this would likely have been an attempt to modernize her. In game, the ship has been viewed as somewhat of a downgrade from the preceeding Kawachi Class. This may be slightly true with it's stock configuration but the Hull upgrades are what makes this ship decent. Hull B adds some armor and a scout plane to extend the range of your main guns temporarily. Hull C adds a massive superstructure that further extends the range of your artillery and provide anti-aircraft defense. One of the main drawbacks to this ship is the fact that there are more turrets in the back than in the front, and generally fewer guns than battleships of her tier. However the rear guns seem to have a better forward firing angle. This allows you to narrow your hit box while zig-zagging to fire at your enemy. In this match I noticed that our team left our flank totally exposed. So as our cruisers charged around to the enemy's point, I elected to stay behind and keep ships off of our point. It ended with a nice little dual with another Battleship.
