If you're a battleship, especially one as big as Tirpitz, you don't want to dual it out with a small and agile destroyer. You're basically a big easy target for their torpedoes. Yet, I spent most of this match trying to secure Point A from a troublesome destroyer. Keeping my distance and constantly changing speed and course to throw off possible torpedo salvos. The Tirpitz was the sister ship to the famous battleship Bismarck. The vessel spent most of it's career in Norway. The Kriegsmarine had considered using the ship to disrupt convoys between the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union. Multiple operations were attempted to remove the threat that Tirpitz posed. One such attack was known as "Operation Source" which employed experimental British X-class midget submarines. These actions were dramatized in the film "Submarine X-1".
