Nothing out of the ordinary for this match. Early one two of our team weren't moving from the start. But they eventually loaded in. Near the mid-point of the battle I noticed a battleship trying to sneak past to our cap area. Took care of that and returned in time to assist with the winning kill. I'm surprised their DD didn't try to cap. I'm in the premium ship, USS Albany (CL-23). Originally the ship was one of four that were being built in England for the Brazilian Navy. It would have been named "Almirante Abreu". However the United States purchased the ship while it was still incomplete. The US also purchased the sister-ship, to be named "Amazonas", which was renamed USS New Orleans (CL-22). This was to prevent the two ships from being acquired by the Spanish Navy in the wake of the Spanish-American War. A third ship named "Ministro Zenteno" was purchased by the Chilean Navy. Brazil was only able to acquire one vessel of this type, the "Almirante Barroso". The ships originally were equipped with British made 6-inch guns. They were unique in the US Navy, which resulted in ammunition supply issues. Because of this, during the first refit of both ships, their primary guns were replaced with American standard equipment. The ship would be present during the Philippine-American War but would not have a combat role. During World War I the ship would be used for convoy duties in the Atlantic. After the war, she would return to the Asiatic Fleet. Briefly she was re-classified as a gunboat, and given the designation PG-36. Almost a year later the ship was re-classified again back to a cruiser with her former designation. In 1922 the Albany and New Orleans were decommissioned and sold for scrap.
