Battleships are big, slow, and not very maneuverable. This makes them very easy targets. Destroyers and torpedo planes are the biggest fear for a BB captain. Best thing to do is keep changing course and speed. Slow down. Then speed up again. If a DD is near by, try to angle yourself to avoid a broadside attack. In this clip, I dodge every single torpedo attack (some of it by luck). The thing is, most DD captains use that little aiming guide to fire. But that guide is based on the targets current speed and heading. Constantly changing that means you hopefully won't be where the torpedoes are at by the time they arrive at their intended destination.
